uh-oh...

Hey guys, it's me Obadiah. See that door right there? My little brother Malachi just locked himself in there. I was playing in the toy room and Daddy was working on his computer when we heard Malachi crying. There's a little space at the top of the door, so that's how we heard him. We thought we should climb up on the chair and take a look and see what was going on.

I guess he got on the other side of the door and turned the lock so that he couldn't get out. He was pretty upset about it. We kept telling him to turn the little thingy to unlock the door but he couldn't figure it out.

Daddy tried to take the door knob apart with a screw driver but he's never been really good with mechanical stuff so we had to move to "plan B"! Plan B was Dad's idea and I can't say that I was really thrilled with it. His idea was to put me in that tiny little space above the door and see if I could point to the little lock thingy so that Malachi could unlock the door. I tried but Malachi just wasn't getting it. It was pretty scary up there and my leg started falling asleep so I had Daddy get me down quick!!!

OK, now it was time for "plan C". Daddy climbed up the chair and squeezed himself through the little space at the top and hung over the edge to try to help Malachi unlock the door. He couldn't get Malachi to do it, so he hung WAY over the edge and stretched and stretched until he could reach the door knob and unlock it himself. It kind of hurts hanging on the edge like that. Daddy said, "Oh man, that's gonna leave a mark!" He looked pretty silly hanging upside down like that so I took a picture of him! Anyway, we got Malachi out and we're pretty sure he won't be turning the lock on the door any time soon!

its' potty time!!!!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

I'm getting so big I can't believe it! I've only been two for about a month and already I'm figuring out the whole potty chair deal. I've got pull ups, and big boy underwear that I wear now instead of diapers. I guess it's pretty cool. I like watching mommy and daddy freak out after I go potty. They're so happy you'd think I just cured cancer, or won the nobel peace prize, or something. They totally lose it! I get it you guys, you're trying to be supportive. That's cool I guess.

Gotta run... I'm feeling a little tingly tingly in my junk...

a little to the left... that's it

OH YEAH!!! It's me, Obadiah, and that's a picture of my first massage! I was visiting my buddy Zachariah and we went to Starbucks to get a Hot Chocolate and this girl had a massage chair set up and was offering a free rub down!

It felt SO GOOD!!! I was so relaxed that I think I drooled a little bit on her chair. Oops... my bad.

boo!!!

Hi guys, it's me Obadiah! Here are the costumes that me, Malachi, and Mommy wore for Halloween. I'm batman, Malachi is a fireman, and Mommy is a butterfly, she's so pretty but her wings kept poking our eyes out. Daddy said he was dressed up like a jogger, but all he did was put on his sweatpants and running shoes. Actually, I don't think I've ever seen Daddy run though.

Here we are at the pumpkin patch in front of the haunted house. It looked pretty scary so Malachi and Mommy stayed out front so Daddy and I could go in. I'm a pretty big boy so it didn't scare me at all. We had lots of fun at the pumpkin patch!

We went to the Harvest Party at church and then went trick or treating! It was cold and dark, but who cares? WE WERE GETTING FREE CANDY!!!!! It was so much fun. I think I really like this holiday. We were all smiles for this picture, but we ate so much candy that a little bit later I almost barfed! Good times.

Happy Birthday to me!!!!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

It's my birthday party! I can't believe I'm two years old already!!! We had my birthday party at the Pumpkin Patch. We had a great time and the whole family came out to have fun with us!

Mommy helped me open up all of my presents. I got some really cool stuff!!!

This may have been my favorite moment of the day! Usually Mommy runs a pretty tight ship when it comes to sugar intake, but today... she said, "go for it Malachi!!!" I'm still coming off of my sugar high!

The next day I tried on one of my gifts. My big brother Obadiah gave me some big boy underwear. I'm not quite sure how they work yet. I'll figure it out.

I got my cast off! Hi guys it me, Malachi! I’m so excited that I finally go to take off my “boot”! Do you know how they take off casts??? WITH A SAW!!! THEY CUT IT OFF!!! I was not too happy about that. Anyway, to celebrate getting the cast off I took a shower. Daddy said I smelled like “funk”. I couldn’t smell it, he’s crazy.

day at the lake

Hello everyone. It’s Obadiah and I wanted to give you an update on how we are doing. Our Mommy is over in Louisiana helping people who don’t have homes anymore. Mommy’s the best. She was worried about us because Daddy is responsible for our daily care, but she doesn’t need to worry. We’ve been doing great. Like last night for example; we had brownies for dinner. EXCELLENT!!! See? Nothing to worry about.

Anyway, we’ve had some pretty cool adventures and wanted to share them with you. Today after church Grandpa Albert invited us to go to the lake with him to ride in his canoe!!!

It was such a nice day out at the lake! We saw lots of ducks like these ones.

Malachi still can’t get any water on him because of the cast on his foot, so he stayed with Daddy while Grandpa Albert and me went out on the lake. Here we are taking off from the dock.

Here is Malachi throwing some rocks into the water.

Here we are out in the middle of the lake! It was SO pretty out there! I really like this park. I told my Daddy, "I love this park... it reminds me of the good days."

Here we are, coming in for a landing!

That was so much fun! Thank you Grandpa Albert!!!

Oh man, this sucks

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Hi guys, it’s me Malachi. Me and Obadiah were running laps around the house the other night and banged into each other pretty hard. When we landed on the ground, Obadiah somehow landed on top of me. It hurt really bad!!!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Daddy and Mommy weren’t sure if it was broken. They took me to the doctor and he said he didn’t think so. After walking on it a few more days it started hurting really bad, and making me walk funny. Mommy decided to see a different doctor and get an X-Ray.
It’s official… my first broken bone. The one in your foot that connects the ankle to the big toe… That’s the one. So I’ve got a cast on, and that’s kind of cool. I call it my "boot". No one messes with me anymore. I just act like I’m going to kick and they back right down. And I’ve been getting sympathy kisses like crazy. The little girls in the nursery are like putty in my hands. I guess having a broken foot has it’s advantages.

I’m so excited!!!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Daddy and Mommy told me today that we were going to the toy store to buy me my first bike! I can’t believe it! We went to Toy’s R Us and looked around at the bikes. I checked out a bunch of different models and colors and decided on the green one that had a sticker on it that said, “PainKiller”. I’m pretty sure that means that it won’t hurt if I crash, so that’s good!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

So we headed back to the house, found my helmet and then Dad and I went for a ride. This bike is SWEET!!! I’m especially pleased with a special feature that the PainKiller has… AN EXTRA SET OF WHEELS!!! No kidding… On either side of the one in back! Isn’t that killer?!?!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Here I am about 10 seconds into my first ride!!! You know what happened about 15 seconds into my first ride??? My FIRST CRASH. You remember what I said about PainKiller means it won’t hurt? Not so much. It kinda hurt. But anyway, Dad and I went on a nice long ride. I caught one really long gradual downhill and I laughed so hard! On my way down the hill I screamed at the top of my lungs, “LIFE IS GOOD!!! (true) That was right before I got my first flat tire (also true). Oh well. That’s enough firsts’ for one day. I’m exhausted, I’ve gotta go take a nap.

I made it to the TOP!!!

Here I am, I'm almost to the top. I've had a hard tome reaching the ropes, but I'm 4 1/2 now and I'm getting pretty big. My cousins Hannah and Summer can make it to the top, so I really wanted to see if I could do it.

YESSS!!!! I MADE IT!!! That's right, I made it. That's a big thumbs up from the top of the tower!!!

Daddy keeps making me laugh and it's hard to hold on at the top! Stop it Dad!!! He climbed up to show me how I could make it back down. I did it all by myself.

a good day for a walk

Hi guys, It's Obadiah! Today it was really cold outside in the morning. But the sun came out after lunch and Dad took us for a walk!

We went to the park! There's a park at the school pretty close to our house, so I rode my scooter and Malachi rode in the stroller. I'm getting pretty strong! Check out my muscles! I can hang up here for like two or three seconds!!!

The slide is one of our favorite rides at the park!

Here I go! Malachi has to wait his turn!!!

We tried climbing up this thingy. Malachi got about half way up. I got all the way to the top then got stuck. Daddy had to put the camera away really fast and grab me before I fell all the way down. It was lots of fun, but it was really hot so I'm soaking wet. That happens when I get too hot. We just got home from our walk and it's nap time so I've got to go!!!

Bye Bye!

Fun at the farm

Hi guys, it's me, Obadiah! Me and my little brother Malachi went over to our buddy Preston's house to visit him the other day. He lives on a farm. Check it out, he's even got his own tractor!!!

That thing is fast! I tried driving it, but I had a hard time with the shifter and the pedals. I think I'll just watch while Preston drives Malachi around the yard. I think Preston has a hard time with the steering too. He goes until he runs into something and then the wheels just start spinning, then he throws it into reverse and starts all over again.

You can only play "Let's run over Obadiah with the tractor" for so long, so we decided to go visit "Porkchop". Porkchop is Preston's pony. Porkchop isn't very big, I'm just as tall as he is!!

We took some baby carrots with us to give to Porkchop. He eats them right out of your hand. Kinda slobbery though! Malachi was not too happy about sharing the carrots so he tried to shove them all in his mouth at the same time!

Not me though! I shared ALL my carrots with Porkchop.
That's why we're such good buddys!!!

4th of July

Hi there, it's me, Obadiah! For the 4th of July we got to go sailing on this boat!!! That's our new friend Monty. He lives on the boat, can you believe that?!?!

I got to sit up front and watch the water go under us. It made me feel kind of wierd. It made Mommy feel weird too. She had to hang off the side of the boat for a little while. She felt better after that.

That's downtown San Diego. See the really old looking boat with lots of sails?

Here we are... the men... hanging out... doing what we do.

We sailed right past this buoy with real live sea lions on it!!!

We also sailed right by this old skool boat. It looked pretty cool, it must be a lot of work to put all those sails up the pole thingys.

I got to steer for a little bit!! It was really cool, you could feel everything moving around when you spin the wheel. They didn't let me steer after I spun it though. I think they were just jealous of my sea-worthiness. AHOY!!

We put Daddy and uncle Ben to work.

While they were working, Mommy, Malachi, and me were working on our tan!!!

After a long hard day of sailing we watched the fireworks over the bay. It was really sparkly.
